How is your mental health affecting your business? If theres one thing I have learnt about being a female entrepreneur its that we need to take care of ourselves, Mentally and physically!

This may seem obvious but let me ask you, do these habits sound familiar?
– Working all hours, trying to do it all!
– Drinking too much coffee
– Overcommitting yourself
– Constantly feeling stressed
– Eating unhealthy because you just don’t have time to cook!

Taking care of your mental health does not make you weak, if anything you are stronger for acknowledging that you need to take care of your wellness.

Wellness is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Now I know you may be thinking that you simply do not have the time (especially when your a one women show and your business relies solely on you) BUT ask yourself this…when you burnout and cannot work at all, what good is that?

So here are some small healthy habits to improve your mental health and your business:

Get 8 hours of Sleep
Take at least 8 hours to sleep, this gives your mind time to rest and your body to rejuvenate.

Drink plenty of water
Did you know drinking water makes you 14% more productive? by increasing your brain power and providing you with energy. Not to mention it flushes out toxins and boosts your immune system.

Exercise
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve your mental health, it relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better and helps boost your mood. Even a quick 15 minute walk every morning could make a huge difference.

Meditate
Your brain needs a time out, meditation is a great way to switch off and let go off work even for 5 minutes. At first it can be difficult but once you practice – Calm app is great for this with 7 day, 10 minute meditations.

Eat Well
Theres a reason people say ‘ you are what you eat’ because our bodies need fuel to run off. If you are eating at random times and just grabbing a greasy quick meal then you will notice your lack of energy. Its really important to have a balanced diet and get all the nutrients you need. This makes your brain function much more productive. Thats not to say you don’t deserve that cake you have been craving after a long day! It just means getting the balance.

Automate
When your business is automated it takes care of itself, a very successful women recently told me to automate certain areas of my business and it made a huge difference not only to productivity but to my brain. No more worrying before bed about what I hadn’t done because it is all mapped out ready for me to tackle in the morning. A great tool for this is Asana

These may sound like simple daily habits but are often the things we forget to do when we are busy. Once you master doing them regularly it will make a huge impact on your life. They certainly have to mine!
